But I’ve been doing a few bits and pieces of EZ-USB stuff here and there since Christmas. This entry was posted in Code, EZ-USB, EZ-USB Suite on Januby adhdengineering. I intend to do a video going over the projects in more detail (with lots of rambling etc.)Īny questions on the source should be sent the Youtube channel so I can see them.

My own stupid fault, assumed the power circuitry could handle 12v input and step it down to the require voltages. I unleashed the magic smoke on my new fpga board already. This entry was posted in Code, Driver on Februby adhdengineering.

It’s fairly straight forward, but you’ll need some tools.Īll these should install fine on any windows version (well 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 no promises for Vista or XP). We take the original driver and we resign it.

Windows 7 64bit, Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 won’t tho. Older versions of windows would warn you, but still install the driver. It’s signed ok, but the INF file in the driver was modified after it was signed, thereby invalidating the signing.

This is a good thing, it forces companies to do it right, but there are plenty of drivers for older hardware that aren’t properly signed.įor example the Altera USB-Blaster driver. But the problem is that windows has been gradually tightening the requirements on the signed code.

It’s not cos the driver is too old, it’s cos the driver is improperly signed.īasically signing code/drivers allows Windows to check that the driver hasn’t be altered between it’s original creation and you getting hold of it. I’m using Altera Quartus Web Pack 11.0 SP1 and the driver for the Altera USB-Blaster doesn’t install on windows 10.
